What is Biomolecular Engineering?

Biomolecular Engineering is a new interdisciplinary field that uses engineering knowledge and process to add value to knowledge from the biomolecular, physical, chemical and mathematical sciences, with the objective of delivering commercial products to society. Biomolecular Engineering aims to deliver new products, inspired by biology, that promise to revolutionise our lives and economy. Bioengineers advance fundamental concepts and create knowledge across a range of length scales, from the atomic-molecular to the supra-cellular, and apply this knowledge to develop innovative biologics, materials, processes, implants and devices for the direct benefit of individuals and to society. Bioengineers act as the bridge from breakthrough bioscience to sunrise high-tech industries.
