Research Interests
Extrusion processing
- Extrusion of starch-based materials
- Blending starch with biodegradable polymers (including biopolyesters)
- Reactive extrusion
Phase transitions
- Develop new methods to study the phase transitions of starch under shear and low-moisture conditions (just as during an extrusion processing)
Applied rheology
- Extrusion rheology of starch-based materials as functions of amylose/amylopectin ratio,
temperature, moisture content, blend contents, extrusion conditions, etc.
Nanostructured polymers
- Preparation and evaluation of novel starch polymer nanocomposites
